‘95 Range Rover Classic
1995 Range Rover Classic Soft Dash. $20k
Up for sale is a 1995 Range Rover Classic County SWB named “Lodi” which was rescued from the going to the crusher in Lodi California. Lodi has a clean California Title to my name. Alpine white exterior with Sandstone tan interior. The truck has had extensive work and periodic maintenance done to it to make it a turn key adventure ready rig. I prioritize drive train and engine in my projects as well as detailing all the electrical components. Has had head gaskets and head job done about 3 years ago in addition its has had tons of work to the interior rare piece swapped to make a complete and clean interior.
Engine
Engine runs very strong. Just recently it has had a complete tune up (ignition wires, ignition spark plugs and rotor and cap swapped. In addition the ignition pick up on the distributor was changed and the entire distributor assembly was serviced.
3 years ago I installed a cat back exhaust system. At the time of exhaust work the both oxygen sensors were changed during the maintenance.
In the video posted on you tube I show the Rover Gauge app connected to the RRC's ecu and you can see the truck idling perfectly ready for adventures. No Check Engine light codes in the system. All systems are working great together.
Suspension
RRC currently has original Air Suspension. One sensor is faulty which will be swapped out prior to delivering to the new owner. New owner has the option of keeping it with the air suspension or I will happily remove the system and change it out for a 2” lift coil suspension. Currently it has Old Man Emu 2” Nitro charged shocks on each corner. In exchange for the work to put it to coil suspension I will remove all air components to disable the system and turn off system.
The entire suspension has a new polyurethane bushing kit installed. Range Rover Classic tracks perfectly straight at 70-80mph with my hands off the steering wheel.
Electrical
Dash has been detailed and all light bulbs work on both the instrument cluster and the center dash lights where the radio and AC components live.
All light bulbs have been changed and many switches have been rebuilt to remove the grimy dielectric grease Land Rover used. Many of these switches were cleaned and restored to specs for many years to come.
Seat ECU has had rechargeable battery replaced and window and seat switches serviced.
No Check engine or Service engine or any suspension lights dash light lights are present. SRS light is on. I believe the previous owner disabled the system.
Window ECU was serviced for several solder joints that were broken. All windows work perfectly.
Sun roof works perfectly smoothly in operation with a new headliner installed.
Transmission/Transfer Case/Differentials
Transmission was serviced 1years ago. Transmission fluid and the filter were changed. Shifts smoothly through every gear.
Transfer case has been inspected and fluid has been changed less than one year ago.
Differentials have had gear oils changed 1 months ago to 75-90wt gear oil.
Interior
Dash has been meticulously serviced. Center dash bezel was replaced with a very clean unit that was reinforced in some areas to avoid any future damage. This piece was very difficult to find and was replaced with its utmost care. Many shops end up breaking these bezels because of lack of patience. If you wish to have a certain unit whether its an OEM or aftermarket can be installed at a minimal cost.
Seats have wear and tear. Driver’s and rear seat is in good shape and front passenger seat needs addressing some of the stitching.
Headliner was replaced about a month ago.
Center console has been replaced with a unit that did not have any holes from previous cell phone stands gadgets. Very nice unit and looks just outstanding.
Exterior
Alpine white is the original exterior paint and has some scratches and imperfections of road use. By no means is this a concours condition as this truck is not there to win you awards at cars and coffee meets or such events. It's a very good straight example that is presentable and will bring you lots of great adventures and smiles. It's a rig that can be enjoyed on the trails and off pavement without worrying of damaging a concourse paint.
There is absolutely no rust anywhere. This truck has been in Cali all its life. It is rust free and has solid floors and chassis. Solid A,B,C, and D pillars.
Overall verdict
These Range Rovers are getting harder and harder to find. The 1995 SWB (short wheel base) is the perfect platform for off-road. This is a very original paint on its exterior. This truck being rust free and mechanically sorted can take you to those needed adventures in a turn key fashion. Being a 28+ year old truck it will need your periodical maintenance and for you to stay on top of your fluids. It's not a leaker in fluids but any Rover needs to have its fluids checked periodically and especially the coolant to keep that Rover V8 healthy.
